PLAN LIMITS FOR 2009
The annual
defined contribution benefit limit increases from $46,000 to $49,000, and the
annual compensation limit increases from $230,000 to $245,000 for 2009.
The annual per participant limit on 401(k), 403(b) and 457(b) elective
contributions increases from $15,500 to $16,500, and the $5,000 maximum annual "catch-up" contribution for individuals age 50 and over increases to $5,500.
The compensation limitation for the definition of "highly compensated
employee" increases from $105,000 to $110,000, and the annual compensation
threshold for key employees increases from $150,000 to $160,000.
The limit on the annual benefit payable under a defined benefit plan
increases from $185,000 to $195,000.
